Default Where is the change behind my seat?

Hi all,

I bought my S about 1.5 months ago and while it is in pristine condition, I am having one very annoying issue with it. Whenever I corner hard I hear change, or something similar, rolling around somewhere behind my seat, more specifically behind my head or upper back area. I am pretty sure it is behind my seat, and my girlfriend agrees. I took off the one small panel behind my seat, but didn't see anything, and briefly checked the spare tire compartment, but nothing there either. Does anyone have any ideas where the previous owner could have dropped change? It's not in any of the designated storage areas (secret compartment, lower compartment, etc.) and I can't foresee where else change would be placed. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

did you check to see if the wing nut holding the spare tire down is loose? This will make that kind of sound.

It's most definitely not the wingnut, as it sounds as if the change is traveling about a foot in either direction when I corner. It's not just a rattle. I don't hear it unless I'm cornering hard.

Did you check the secret compartment?

Does it have a newer top?

If the top was replaced in the past, sounds like it could be rivets stuck in the frame moving around.

When I got my top replaced they cut the rivets that secured the elastic straps and left bits and pieces of the rivet in the rib. Now anytime I take a hard turn I can hear the rivets moving around. You may have the same issue.
I was going to drill a small hole in the rib and drop some epoxy in there to catch the debris.

Hmm, as far as I know the top was never replaced, so I don't think it's that, but thanks for the hints. Plus, it seems much closer to me than in the top, which is always down when I'm driving.

Check where the softop sets when it's down.

Longshot maybe- The previous owner threw a bunch of change under the console cover. If your hyper paranoid as many of us are, you begin to imagine that someday you may lose everything in your pockets including your wallet. Safty tells us that we have to hide money somewhere where only we can find it. Use your imagination to find that intentional and elusive pot of gold. GL
