Come on, guys...This REALLY ISN'T a stupid question! He wants to know where he can go muck around with his car and test it's limits! This is something EVERY sports car owner should do!
Nothing can be said better than knowing WHEN your car will break loose and how to handle it once it does! I'd rather see a new owner doing this in the safety of a parking lot than on public streets!

I guess it depends if he wanted specific answers or generic 'i prefer testing the limits here' answers.
Do what the F1 drivers do - go to the public streets of Melbourne. I hear the police are very tolerant of that sort of thing.
