They have to pull the steering wheel out of my cold, dead hands before anyone gets me out of my car.

I usually have to pull my hand out of my pants first. Driving the S2000 just gets me going.

If you think getting in and out of our cars is hard you should try it in the new lotus elise that is not an easy task.

I agree. I've sat in one and its a lot more work, but for someone of my size, it's not all that hard.

+1, but I usually don't take the door completely off...

Left hand goes on the door sill. Right hand goes on the center console. Lift body UP and over the bolsters, step out w/left leg, transfer weight to left hand on sill, step out of car w/right leg.

Look for me in the '08 Olympics, competing in Pommel Horse
to the tee. I never, repeat never, use the steering wheel to help me out. Door sill and some center arm rest.

Anyone grab the corner of the windshield?

Just a guess, but I'd say most of those that use the spot I diagrammed are probably taller than average. I have a 33" inseam, and if I don't lift myself out like DB8 described its damn hard and absolutely torture to the side bolsters.

One good side effect, my left tricep is HUGE!
