Default where to find JDM key

A while ago I saw someone with an ap1 buy what he reffered to as a JDM key and use it with his ap1 ignition. Basically it looks like the ap2 key except the aluminum part is shiny instead of matte silver. I do prefer to have a ap2 key but I was told it is impossible to modify the ap2 key to be used with the ap1 ignition. If anybody has any information on either the "JDM" key or how to make a ap2 key work with an ap1, I would be really happy.

I'm not sure how to get an AP2 key to work in an AP1 car. You maybe able to buy the ignition with the key then install it that way. You will also have to have the cars ECU programmed to the new key chip.
I like the AP2 key with the keyless entry buttons on it I would like to be able to use one of them in my 2002

I have the JDM key and complete ignition with wire harness. PM me I may sell it off

If i remember correctly all you had to do was get the key ground to match your oem key then either disable the emobilizer or somehow fasion the imobilizer chip into the jdm key.

I think Rick from Rick's Parts did the chip swap. PM him, he may have the "how to do it" info you need
