Where to get Gas...
#1 who is close when I need to refuel
#2 who has the better ingress/egress to pumps in my direction of travel
#3 who is cheaper for top octane (assuming 2 or more stations meet conditions 1 & 2)
All about ROI. Time is money, and money is money.
Follow the mantra of sweet, green, fresh (a bit tacky to the feel) money and it will set you free.
If you are into money, soak about 300 one dollar bills (uncirculated from your bank) in a 1 inch hot bath. Soak overnight.
Next day, top off the tub with hot water and embrace the influx of pure energy.
You can dry the money and it costs you NOTHING.
Spa secret big oil does not want you to know...it has such a succulent smell.
Peace.

FUEL IS FUEL BUY HIGH OCTANE FOR YOUR DOLLAR...PERIOD
go buy some C-12 if you need to boost your octane. Buy a small drum of it and just add a half or whole gallon. nothin like some 112 in the car to help out. For you non turbo guys....just RUN CHEAP GAS! 91 octane your totally safe.

I live in Northern California, the Bay Area. We have extensive smog controls, and as a result somewhat different gas here than in most of the rest of the country.
I have tried both Shell 91 and Chevron 91 here.
The Chevron 91 runs strong and very smooth, building more & more power all the way thru my 8200 rev limit; however, I can hardly tell that anything happens at 6k when vtec kicks in.
The Shell 91 is a bit less smooth especially at low rpm and when suddenly stabbing the throttle (also low rpm), though, also builds power more and more thru the rpm range. The big difference is that at 6k, I can feel a sudden huge burst of power when vtec kicks in, and the rpms rocket to 8k+. I get this sudden burst in all gears. I like it! So, my preference is Shell.
I think that the Shell is a bit more volitile and maybe has a 1/2 pt or so lower octane, even though they are both published as having the same octane rating. Chevron is well known for its quality and stability and consitency. If you ever have knocking problems, switch to Chevron; on the other hand if you don't maybe Shell is a better choice.
(Of course, you all know that lower octane gas has more energy, but it is harder to harness/control/convert because of detonation.)
I have tried Shell and Chevron each for 3 tankfuls in a row, and, back to back to back. I stand by my observations. I have previously (and also on other fourms) posted my observations. Usually though, I get some stupid response like "It's all in your head", as if fuel couldn't possibly effect engine performance, LOL!
Happy holidays!

i dunno but that top teir website is full of the biggest amount of bs i've ever seen...i'm a computer technician so i can tell when a website is full of sh*t...there's no references on that site...no links to other sites...AND NO COMPANY CLAIMS OWNERSHIP OF THAT WEBSITE....why are people listening to it?? cuz the almighty internet says its right? you guys are freakin nubcakes if your just listening to that website...
anyway...i use sunoco 93 octane..because there are 4 local sunoco stations that sell it and one is a block from my house, other a block from my gf's house, and the other a block from my work(this one is full service too !!! heh i'm lazy)...i dunno until i find someone else around here that sells 93 or higher i'm not switching gas because 93 octane IMO is better than anyone's 91..doesn't matter who it is...
i really like the idea of keeping a drum of c12 at home and mixing in a gallon on every full tank...i wonder how much that would cost...
seriously though STOP LISTENING TO NOOB WEBSITES...unless it has references..or links to actual scientific studies...its probably some corporate propoganda...if i made a website that said i had a 15 foot you know what...are you stupid enough to believe it??? nuff said...

chevron FTW!!! i only go between shell or chevron on the S if i really need to i get 76. i tend to stay away from shell and 76 due to the ethanol content. i prefer cancer causing MTBE of shell that apparently is less harmful than ethanol to the engine
Gas is gas as some folks have said. Difference is the additive. All gas if not from a tanker comes from a pipeline (most likely KANEB pipeline) and is intermingled between refineries. So if you buy from Chevron doesn't mean it's gas made from Chevron. It means that it is gas that has Chevron additive.
