You can get it any Chevrolt dealer. It cost about $10.00 per qt and tou will need 2. It take about a qt and a half.

Do a search on Google.com, I found several places to order it online. Just search for the part number 12345349.

What is the deal with GM synchromesh fluid? What is the big difference? Sorry, I'm not trying to dog the benefits of switching. I'm just a little ignorant on this subject.

It is a semi-synthetic manual transmission fluid that supposedly does a great job with tricky syncro's.

Of course at $10/qt, it's even more expensive then Redline MTL-90.

I put it in this weekend, will let you know over the next few weeks if it seems to really help. My short test drive didn't yield any earth-shattering conclusions.

The big deal with this fluid, for me at least, was the fact that I didn't have to take my car in for the 2nd gear grind tsb. My transmission hasn't made one noise going into 2nd gear since I put it in. It has always grinded from time to time going into 2nd gear. I have several thousand miles on my fluid and it's great. However, it doesn't seem to work for everyone. See pfb's post directly above this one.

I saw a post earlier today and someone said that they saw a Pennzoil product at Autozone that had the Gm Synchromesh fluid part number on it and it was supposed to be made to the same specs. It was priced at $4.95/qt which is half the price of the GM stuff.

That's what the buzz is about.

The vast majority who have tried GM Synchromesth would say it makes the shifting smoother.

The real question should be how well does the GM synchromesh protect against wear compared to the Honda MTF.
