the PCX is made by Toyo Roki in Japan.

15400-PT7-005 Honda filter for Canada and 15400-PLM-A02 Honda filter for the US are made by Fram. Others may have been in the past, but these are current. Also Honda sources filters from Filtech for the US.

That's what I meant .............. "PLM" (not PCM).

Besides, Fram is probably just as capable of making a good filter as a bad one. The filters they make for Honda (which are not the S2000 PCX filters) are made to Honda specs. The filters they sell as "Fram" are made to their own specs, which might be different.

Regardless, most people agree that both the Honda PLM and the Fram aftermarket filters are substantially inferior to the Honda PCX filters for the S2000 application.

FRAM filters are complete garbage in terms of design and materials...

...I'm not adverse to aftermarket.. just fram.
While their mass market stuff is really subpar, if you're ever able to find Fram X2's for your application (they're silver, and come in something that resembles a coffee tin), they're really the most overbuilt filter on the market.

There is nothing to agree upon. If you dissent from this, you are flat out wrong.

Also, honda has apparently lowered their specs for the US filters (besided the PCX) since the current iteration of filters are worse than they they were a few years ago.

Thanks for all the info. THe PCX filter was what I was looking for. I didnt want to end up with a cheapo fram filter. sure people say fram is ok, but I have taken them apart and they look like cheap pieces of crap.

Someone on this board did exactly this with a number of different S2000 filters (they also did it on the NSX board). Yup, the Fram was garbage.

I still use Fram for my 1994 Prelude with 200K miles. No major or minor problems with the engine too except for an oil leak which I think is coming from around the oil pan. Original clutch too .

I would imagine that a fram would probably perform fine. But for basically the same price, I get the piece of mind of knowing I have a very high quality filter.
