I thought ALL craftsman tool were lifetime gauranteed.
buy from Harbor Freight with care. the fitment of an inexpensive wrench not at spec and can damage the fastner. their air tools are torque free and dont work.
i like the digital snap-on torque wrench. new from snap-on it is to expensive for me but via ebay the price is functional. i had a snap-on mechanical torque wrench that broke, they refused to warrenty it.
for large wrenches i usally buy them locally used but still a name brand. either from a store front in town or craigslist.com. avoid marked stamped tools.
the down side of sears tools is that their metric tools have odd sizes. those metric sizes that correspond to sae sizes. then to complete the metric set you are left to buy single tools at a premium cost.

Craftsman tools with moving parts have limited warranties. That means ratchets, air tools and the like. Sockets, forged wrenches and things like that have a lifetime warranty (stuff that you are more likely to lose than break).
With the exceptions of some other tools.
Can't go wrong with the Sears Craftsman, I have plenty of them that are 10 years old. I love the no questions asked return policy.
Husky tools are basically the old craftsman tools. The company that made the old craftsman tools makes the new husky tools, sears went with a different company to make there tools.
I like the husky stuff, but you need to have a receipts to exchange them, that's what I don't like.
With that said, Snap on is a super nice tool, feels great in the hand.
Do a search and you will see that husky, cobalt, and craftsman are made made by mac, snap on, matco etc.
I don't remember the excact info on this, but I did a search when I heard the rumors.

After 20 years of using cheap socket sets, I finally treated myself to a couple of nice S&K sets (SAE/Metric, 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive) and they have been more than worth every penny over the cheap stuff.
I've gotten by with cheap tools all my life. Finally, a couple of Christmases ago my family got tired of my whining and bought me a very nice set of Craftsman tools. There is a WORLD of difference and their "no questions asked" warranty is outstanding. I will never buy anything else.
By the best tools you can afford, and if you can't afford Craftsman, save up until you can.
