I happened to meander into the lounge at work today, and sitting on the coffee table was the January 1999 issue of Road & Track. The cover story was "Honda's Surprise" since the S2000 hadn't been released yet (though most of their "estimated" performance numbers were about right). And right there on the cover, and in the article itself, was a New Formula Red S2000 with red/black interior! It was totally sweet! I couldn't say for sure, but I think it was the same color scheme as the White/Red ones now (red seats and door panels...maybe carpet too?) Honda, what happened? I am of course quite pleased with my Red/Black, but the Red/Red was kickin'. I wonder why they didn't produce them in that color combo...or am I mistaken? Are any of the MY2000 S2k's Red/Red? But anyway, for whoever that was a few weeks ago who had a dream about a Red/Red S2k, you're not crazy! They do exist (at least one anyway)!

 

Red/Red is not a factory offered combo. Maybe they figured it was a little too much red for people to warm up to.
