White S2K's Worth Less!?!
My point is that there are people out there that DO prefer white. I would have paid more for white as well. Just because there are more silver than white does not mean it is more desirable because not all silvers were ordered. They (silvers) were what was available at the dealer. In fact, I passed on several silvers that were available on dealer's lots. White is not BLUE or YELLOW, which are colors you either like or do not (for the most part!) Again, color choice is subjective. When I am ready to sell, I am pretty sure that I will find someone who wants white. If I sell it for more than a comparable silver, what would that mean?! Sometimes a rare color and/or option is worth more (at least in my experience).
on long island, every dealer had white, and they each told me that white was the hardest to move for them. I could have gotten white at MSRP but passed it up for the silver...
yes i did settle, wanted silver/red got stuck with silver/black : (
did any white owners pay over MSRP????

If this helps confuse the situation, I bought mine 500 bucks cheaper because it was white. It sat on the lot two months before I bought it in a smal cowboy town where the dealer will only get them if ordered. the guy who oredered mine became ill and couldnt pick it up. It sat sad and lonely until I came along.
Overhere if you want to trade-in a car there can be a huge pricedifference depending on the color. I know personally of a situation in the Netherlands that somebody got at least 2000us$ less for his black S2000 back. I THINK (pure guess) the color distribution (in the Netherlands) is about:
50% Silver
30% Blue
10% Red
5% Black
5% White
Yellow is only very recently available. If you have white or black then you're probably screwed on the trade-in price overhere.
But Silver and Blue cost about 500US$ MSRP more because they have metllic paint (each carbrand charges more money for that type of paint).

Tanq - believe me, his car is not selling because it is white. There are several S2K's for sale on this wesbite that are not white and have not been sold (including silver). If someone is looking for a used car (especially an S2K), they are most likely not going to have their choice of color anyway!
Ironically, a diiferent salesperson at the same dealership told me months ago that he felt white/red was the sharpest color combination, while silver was the most dull. For the last time, it is a personal choice! I will make sure that I reply to this post after I sell mine to prove my point.

I don't think that would be too successful. I would guess that most S2K owners are fairly attached to their current cars and maintain them in a certain way. Even if I wasn't satisfied with my color, I would certainly not be willing to swap with anyone!
You could certainly start a poll to see which owner's "settled" for their colors (not including interiors). I think it is pretty speculative to say that "there would be a lot of white owners up."
There is no doubt that silver is a popular color today (in all cars), but I believe that will change (it always does). Just like champaign was incredibly popular in the early 90's. Specifically, sports cars have always been primarily either Red, Black or White (maybe in that order - I don't know!) So in your opinion, if a white is worth less today, will it always be worth less?!
I also just performed a search on cars.com for used S2Ks. Within 100 miles of my home, it provided 14 results. 9 of them were Silvers, 3 Black, 1 Red and 1 Yellow. No Whites. What does that mean? Does it mean that these colors are just as difficult to sell used? With that many silvers, a used car buyer who wants silver has a lot of choices (supply). While a used car buyer who wants white does not.
