Why the hell would you double clutch downshifts on a transmission with synchos? There's absolutely no need.

Wow, just too complicated for me to comprehend.

Rev-matching is one thing, but double-clutching? Come on, now! That's needless foolery!

I do and I think it has a major factor in my 20mpg average.

It is annoying downshifting and getting drivetrain shock not to mention the possibility of breaking traction at the rear.

I guess you NEVER done double clutching...
Double clutching makes gear downshift much easiler and smoother..
Try to put into 1st gear at 30mile without double clutching. Shifter will be much harder to go into 1st gear.
With double clutching, shifter moves without any resistance.
Double clutching saves synchros and you know 00 & 01 has weak first and second gear synchro.
Also with much practice double clutching can be very fast(less than 1 sec)

This issue has been discussed many times.

You're still kidding, right? I used to double clutch all the time... in my ancient, no synchro Trans Am!

There's no reason to double clutch downshifts in any modern transmission. Rev matching accomplishes the same thing without the need for the extra work.

If I was planning to downshift into first gear at 30mph, I might in fact double clutch the shift, just to give me enough time to get the RPMs high enough. But outside of a racing situation, a downshift into first at 30mph isn't the brightest move.

So anyway, if it makes you happy, continue double clutching (I'm going on the assumption you actually know what double clutching is, and aren't just equating rev-matching with double clutching... because they're not the same thing).
