Default Who drives their S2000 in the winter!

I realize that the S is an incredibly fast car after VTEC kicks in at around 6000rpms. It is just like any other Honda in the low RPM's.
If you kept the car under 6000rpms and had a great set of snows tires driving in the snow would seem to be a simple enough task.
What do you guys think???

i had the S in the winter without snow tires... but a full tank of gas and some extra weight in the trunk and it was do-able... but with snow tires itll definitely be fun in the winter

I drove my s2000 with the stock s02's the whole winter (NYC). I however, never drive when there is even a snowflake on the road, or coming down.

Also, here is my opinion on snow tires. They work, they work great. In an s2000, they work great. I would NEVER put them on my car to drive in the snow, and here is my simple reason why. It doesnt matter how well your car handles in the snow, if other people's car cant handle. No matter how glued you are to the road, some idiot with a sport package 325 BMW can lose it and crash into you. Its just not worth it for me. When there was snow on the ground, I just took the bus or a cab. I had a mentality of "Id rather spend 25 bucks on a cab than 500 on a fender" Just my .02

I take it you mean under "winter conditions" (like snow, ice, etc.). A LOT of us uses this car as a daily, year round driver.
Here are some vids of some of our locals guys driving in "winter":

If you search using words like "winter", "snow", you will find thousands of returns.

I finally got Blizzak LM-22's and they make a noticeable difference in the snow/ice we get around here. If possible I take my wife to work and use her front wheel drive Lexus with traction control. Even better in this stuff. I have an 04 on order and my solution for next winter is to get a beater 4-wheel or front wheel drive and leave the S2000 in the garage. I dont think it would do well in heavy snow 12" + because of the clearance.

I'll 2nd the Blizzak LM-22's. Great winter tires in snow and pretty good performance especially for a snow tire. My S is my daily driver and I've driven in snowy (mild-moderate) conditions with no problems.

Knowing the limitations of yourself and the car (w/ your driving skills) are most important. Best to get a good understanding of how to drive RWD and the lil tricks of the trade that go along w/ RWD cars. Not hard just different than FWD.

I wouldn't say this is a good car for winter conditions, but IMO it does just fine.

I think its a great car in the winter. The cabin is small, it heats up in a heartbeat, the defrost is great. You can feel every little movement of the car, and you can feel a skid coming from a mile away. The balance is great. If you drive for the conditions of the road with a good set of snow tires, you will be perfectly fine.

I'm using Blizzak LM22 205/50/R16 on all 4 corners
