I drive the S2000 almost every day.

Occasionally, there is a need for more ground clearance or more grip.

Then I take out "Big Kitty."

Add me to the Corolla winter beater club.

98 corolla with 183k miles. Paid $1700 delivered to my door.
-Replaced starter, front brakes, plugs + wires, door handle. Around $2000 total and it runs well.

It was the only SUV that my wife would drive.

We've had a 95 LR Disco, 03 Pilot, 07 FJ Cruiser, 99 Range Rover and now this one. Each time, she never wanted to drive the SUV and I would get stuck with the "un-fun" car.

Last winter she drove the Q7 and I drove the RS4. This year we picked up a second S2000 and I'm driving that most days for fun. Very hairy weather, massive snow, or long road trips, I take the Q.

It's a pretty fantastic vehicle. Very quiet on the road, still feels athletic in its driving dynamics. Very stable and capable in the Winter (we use snow tires on all our vehicles). Seats 7 and can tow. We get ~21mpg highway (3.6L V6) which is about the same as the RS4.

Shoot me a PM if I can answer any additional questions. But I give it a

I'm on my 4th winter beater since I got my first S 5 years ago (only 1 at a time). What can I say, I have car ADD.

-92 BMW 525i - the idea was to have the most comfortable and fun to drive car I could find for around $2k with a manual transmission. It was comfortable but RWD and no traction control kept me from loving. It started to look like it was developing problems too. Not great mpg but the stereo was excellent.

-98 Jetta TDI - I got 38mpg mixed city/highway and saw 45 mpg if it was mostly highway. Regular VW electrical problems but overall damn reliable (another benefit of diesel). Problem is it doesn't warm up very quickly. I would get home before the heat was actually hot. And if I was stuck in stop and go snow traffic, it would never warm up.

-94 Integra GSR Sedan - Bought from a friend and local S2000 owner. He was the first owner of the car. It was stolen 2 months after I bought it (surprise surprise). Yesterday I got a parking ticket in the mail for that car from after it was stolen.

-02 SVT Focus - my current beater. I love this thing. Tons of utility (hatchback). Fun to drive. Decent in the snow. Not great mpg but won't get stolen when compared to comparably priced or comparably quick Hondas.
