I haven't used a front plate on any of my cars for the last 9 years. I've never had a problem. You just need to remember to put it back on before the annual state inspection. I'm in Massachusetts.

I think there is a $35 fine with no points in Massachusetts for no front plate. I justify the risk by comparing it to the increased risk of a laser ticket with the plate on. Front plates are great laser reflectors.

Got stopped for speeding about a month ago (80 in a 70). Gave me a warning for not signalling a lane change and no front plate.

5 Camaros No Front Plates (Back to 1968)
1 CTS-V No Front Plate (2004)
3 Miatas No Front Plates (Back to 1999)
1 S2000 No Front Plate (2005)

Total Times Stopped for No Front Plate -0-

I did go to a Car Show in Texas a couple of years ago, and DPS stopped a group of Corvettes going back to Austin. Issued 12 tickets to them. I was not with them.

Never had a plate on mine.
Only got ticketed for plate once in LA while i was at an expired meter. I think cuz my car is stock looking, they wont pull me over for that.

I remember i was in a drive thru and two cops saw the front of my car and started walking over after getting their grub. I wasn't too thrilled. But they came up and started asking about the car and gave thumbs up. Who knows, maybe they like it??

Thanks for all the comments guys. I guess I am not as lucky as others, maybe because I live in San Diego.

To answer your question the rims are nippon f-2's(discontinued), I guess they are fake spoons as they look just like them.....LOL! They were the only flat black rims I could find without the spoon price tag.

San Diego seems to be pretty strict about the front license plate law. A cop made a u-turn to pull me over for not having a front plate on my NSX. Also got a fix-it ticket for not having a front plate on my Miata while parked back while I was in high school. I have front license plates on all of the cars now since it's such a hassle to be stopped.
