Default Who Follows The "normal" Maintenance Schedule?

I'm just wondering if anyone here follows the "normal" service schedule and changes the oil at 7500 miles instead of at 3750. The reason I ask is because my driving conditions more closely resemble the normal maintenance conditions.

I don't think it will hurt my S to change according to severe conditions, but how do you feel about adhering to the normal maintenance intervals?

Both schedules are in your owner's manual.

I change my oil every 2500 miles no matter what. Always have on every vehicle I own. Oil is the blood of the engine. I also run my car pretty hard.

Along similar lines, my car's due for 30,000 mile maintance (scheduled). I'm wondering if I should get it done at the dealer or at a local mechanic? It's probably at least 2x as much at the dealer? Any suggestions?
