Default Who hates cops more than I do?

I don't know about you guys, but my S2000 is cop magnet...One time, i had an undercover cop followed me for 10 miles just to see if i do something stupid. I'm talking about a plain car that has no lights, decals, ramming support, attenas. Just a regular CrowVic; finally he pulls another car over before i knew he was really a cop..I can smell a pig a mile a way.

We're not talking about profiling here, but police officers have a sense of what people are likely to break laws & give them trouble.

It's probably not the car their so interested in. Maybe it's you! Post a picture of yourself and I'll let you know if the police would be likely to target you.

I'm a criminal defense attorney and my clients are always saying "That cop was out to get me. They're always hassling me". Well, 99% of the time, there is little confusion as to why.

Nice baggie pants, nice absurdly long t-shirt, nice sideways hat / doo-rag on your head. Nice tattoos commemorating your dead friend / family member. Nice booming rap music coming from your "system".

Funny that my clients who wear khakis and white button-down shirts rarely get hassled (although there are still ways to look like a POS/thug in those clothes).

I'll give you that a flashy car can attractive attention (some of it bad and unwanted), but if you're having trouble with the police, it's probably all about YOU.

I had a really crappy day yesterday. As I was driving home last night a good song comes on the radio just as I turn onto a totally empty strech of 4 lane highway. I decide to let it loose. I shoot through 1st, 2nd, and into 3rd, then all the sudden my radar goes nuts. I slam on brakes and then I see the cop sitting in the median. He flashes his lights and I pull over. As he walks up to the car he yells, "What the HELL are you doing going 73 in a 35." What else could I say? "I had a really crappy day, and obviously picked the wrong time and place to vent some frustration." I was really hoping he would understand, expecially since given the conditions it wasn't a particularly dangers thing to do (no other people, and no roads crossing the road I was on). I guess I can't really blame him for not letting me off. I got out of it with a $303.50 ticket, certainly better than any jail time I suppose. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.

So let the flames begin. I'm sure no one else on the board has ever done this before....

Oh and just to make sure I'm not stealing the thread! I hate cops!

Profiling...if it catches more bad guys, I'm all for it.

When a cop sees a riced out civic making obnoxiously loud noises and pays more attention to it than the Taurus two lanes over, that is profiling.

When you are walking home late at night and see a shady character in a trench coat and decide to say the f away from him, that is profiling.

Making an assumption based on past experiences. In your case, whats the big deal? If you weren't doing anything illegal, than you have every right to just go on your merry way. The cop has every right to follow you.

I just started working as a Corrections Officer a few months ago as a foot in the door to becoming a Police Officer or Deputy Sheriff. Everyday I here about how "crooked" cops are and how they are "out to get me." Well no shit, if you break the law they are supposed to get you.

"No man is above the law and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man's permission when we require him to obey it. Obedience to the law is demanded as a right; not asked as a favor." ~ Theodore Roosevelt

I think most car enthusiast don't like to see traffic cops. I can understand that. The speed limits are a little generic and some people can do 80 mph under control (good driver in an S2000) while others can't (old lady in a 1982 Buick).

But I can't fathom the hating of the police overall? Who are you going to call when your car gets stolen? Who do you need to make a report when someone runs a red light and hits your car?

I'm just going to take the "I hate cops" sentiment with a big grain of salt.

Parking tickets and speeding tickets are annoying ... but do you really hate the police?

Go watch an episode of COPS on TV and tell me you side with the miscreants who are out there riding around in stolen cars, beating on their wives, shooting up, using Meth, selling crack. I don't get it.
