i only grinded once (knock on wood) b/c i was lazy and didn't have the clutch down all the way...i learned from my mistake. it was 100% user error.

 

At what point are the dog teeth rounded off beyond hope?

 

During summer I grind about once a month, sometimes more. Winter it doesn't grind much though.

i think if you take your time b/w the shifts, the synchros will have less wear on them...allowing you to have a smoother shifting action over time. if you like the jam the gears, you are asking for trouble. i usually take like 1-2 seconds b/w 1st and 2nd to make sure the synchro recieves less wear.

Twice since I got my car a year ago, both done when i was tired, but the grinds where at low rpm so I'm not to worried.
