My wife rolls her side up when we get on the freeway because she says the wind hurts her ears. My side=always down.

Not a huge fan, although... I would rather be TOP DOWN ( ) windows up than TOP UP ( ) windows down

I don't think there's anything macho/cool in becoming deaf from the sounds of 18-wheelers at 70 mph on the freeway. Windows up help to deflect some of the sound.

it is something to be VERY ashamed of.

What is the use of having a convertible if you put the windows up ?

Mike

p.s. Proud to say, I have 220,000 to 260,000 miles in a convertible with the windows down and less than 1 mile with the windows up.

Highways at >70mph
Sometimes on way to work so I don't have to duck into bathroom to comb hair ASAP
Very hot day so AC cools a little
Cool days to keep a little heat in

In geographic areas with wide temp swings this can extend the convertible season so I don't have a problem with it.

I believe this window down thing started with the early English sports car......They had plastic windows and if the top was down the windows were off. What some people feel, the real spirit of a sports car is to be with the elements[when the top is down] and wear a scar, hat, gloves etc.I've had
roadsters all my life[I'm 59} and always have my windows and top down at the same time.Obviously,we all feel different about this but i have to admit I would sell my car before my windows go up with the top down.

I do it to hear my stereo better. The windows keep more of the sound in.

Sometimes, I mess around with my GF when we're going down the highway and put the windows up and she yells " THAT LOOKS SO GAY'!! And tells me to keep 'em down if the top's down.
