I had a 2001 NFR for more than 5 years....I leased an 06 for VSA reasons.
BTW, I'm 60 and will probably purchase another...My lease is up in May.
I think about the S2000 like my 59 MGA, classic and raw for it's day.

On my second...traded my 00 Silverstone in for an 06 Rio in July 06. Decided to trade for newer in anticipation of the S no longer being made. Loved the 00 and love the 06!

Looks like there are a few of us CR owners that are previous owners as well.

I thought the first year of Spa was 2001.
Correct, 2001 was the first year the S2K came in yellow.

I am on my 2nd...i switched into an EG6...swapped a B18C..did all them mods...but then i missed the s2k...so i switched back

I had an 03 before and now i have an 01, surprisingly, the 01 was in better shape than the 03. My 01 has the plastic soft top but it was hella clear, and it did not have the rips on the corners. The gears didnt grind as my 03, and the overall car was much more maintained. Although, the 03 made a slight more HP/Torque, a noticeable amount of hp/torque infact.

I'm 60 too, and also think of the S2000 as being a kind of modern incarnation of my old MGA. LOL, I just wish it were as small and light as the MG.

We need a bumper sticker that says, "I may be old, but I'm ahead of you."

It's funny this thread came up.

I just bought my 2nd S2000 1 week ago. I sold my first (an '00) last January and bought a '99 C5 Corvette. For the first time in my life when the new owner of my S2000 drove away...I actually missed the car. It was really weird. Day after day all I could think about was my S2000 and driving it. How much I enjoyed it, how much I actually...loved it!

In the end I just came to the realization that ultimately I liked the Corvette...But loved the S2000.

I can't really explain it. The Corvette was faster, had waaaay more torque, seemed to actually handle better and I really thought it was a beautiful car. But something about the S2000 just speaks to me. There's a feeling I can't replicate with any other car, than the one I get from my S2000.

So last week I drove down to St. Louis and delivered my Corvette to it's new owner, hopped on a flight to Chicago O'Hare, took a taxi to the dealership and drove my S2000 home.

It's a Silver with black interior 2003 with 24,000 miles. I couldn't be happier. I didn't, and don't, miss the Corvette at all. I will probably have this car until it's completely spent.

I'm a big believer in the "buy the car you want and keep it forever" mantra.

Bought my 2002 NFR new, why mess with perfection?

My salesman has my red one, a guy in south carolina has my 2nd black. Do not know where my 01 black ended up.

On my 2nd. My 2001 AP1 had siginificant warranty issues. No way was I keeping that dog, whose tranny was opened THREE times under warranty. I went through a C5 Z06 and 330i since. Now I'm back in my '08 AP2, loving it.

The AP2 engine (and gearing?) is noticeably better for daily city driving, IMO. And having stability control, that I can turn off, is a big plus. I do miss the primal sound edge at 9K RPM but that's about it. Not enough miles to speak to warranty issues versus my AP1, and I'm less of a maniac on wheels these days, but we'll see.
