thats the idea I never combine phone and driving without a headset, and even then really just to ask who it is and tell them ill call them back when im not driving.
But the point of the question was to see what headsets people proffered, and I got some replies,
Regarding the JAWBONE, I did use it and I found that it was not good enough, although the problem was not so much the noise canceling which is the best by far of all the ones i tried, the issue was that I couldn't get the rubber stub to stay against my cheek while turning. And thats the trick to making the Jawbone work.
Ive also considered getting a wired headset (or using the ones I have) but again the issue is not me hearing them, its them hearing me, and so noise cancellation is the key. And so far I have not seen any wired ones with noise cancellation.

I've tried a Bluespoon (AX2 I think) which is just a tiny little earbud that fits IN your ear, the most expensive Plantronics I could find (with a small boom mic), and a Nokia (also with a small boom mic). Surprisingly the best was the mini bluespoon which I heard rumor also picks up some voice through your ear canal. That may or may not be true. Nice thing was it didn't get in the way of sunglasses because it had a little rubber tail that fits it snug in your ear, and there was nothing external except a little grey button on the outside.
Nothing really worked well that the other party could hear at anything over 25mph plus in a recent move I lost 2 of em so I'm back using the ol' phone on ear technique.
I just remembered, you might find some useful info in the electronics forum. I considered getting a replacement mirror with bluetooth speakerphone thinking there may be less wind noise up there, but haven't followed through on it. I'm just not in the car enough that I need to talk now.

Ditto on driving and not talking. I've used Jawbone, Jabra JX10, and several Motorola bluetooth sets, Jawbone was the best in the S but still too noisy on the other end so I've given up talking unless stopped or in my Pilot DD.

Along the lines of the original thread but not just noise cancellation, how about a bluetooth that is comfortable to wear?
I have tried the Motorola that came with the phone and a Plantronics and they both just HURT to wear. Especially when you have to push the little connect button.

Forget with all the new technology.....go with the old school ear pieces FTW! It's might be ghetto but trust me, you can hear three times as louder than the bluetooth. I also used bluetooth but only where it was quiet, but if i am driving i used the ear-plug pieces.....worked perfect
my samsung BT head set is loud as hell, i was half way on the volume and it was
screaming.
I am not expecting it to be SAP stereo 6.1 with surround sound, but just
something, safer, legal and get the point across without too much fuzz.
I use the Jabra 250v headset. Its about a couple year old headset but the greatest one I have ever had. When your phone rings the earpiece vibrates and rings. Volume is adjustable and loud even while driving top down. Once you have it on your ear, it does not move. You can get whiplash and the headset is not coming off. One of the main things I like, its not something that sticks out of your ear but goes with the flow of it. Looks more natural in my opinion. It was close to $100 back then, now you can get it for like $30 on ebay or sumthing. If you dont like it, you can always return it so no worries.
