i thought they can't get stolen b/c of the immobilizer? unless they flat bed it i guess...

but i was browsing youtube yesterday and there were so many ricers that had a s2k cluster in their pos cans...kinda pissed me off b/c 90% of them are probably stolen. same goes for the seats it pisses me off when some pos civic has s2k seats in it i automatically think it's stolen.

I saw a white early 90's civic hatchback on the road about 6 months ago. Saw that the guy driving it had S2k seats. Asked him about them...he said that he used to own an S2k but needed some money quick and parted the car out but kept the seats...

A quick way to get through that is use a JDM or aftermarket ECU

otherwise ... the stock one isn't completely invincible ...

My 2001 Silverstone was stolen from my driveway in Central NJ about 7 years ago. Recovered about 3-4 days later in Elizabeth, NJ (pretty shady area) near the docks. The car was intact and the tow yard gave me everything in it. Unfortunately, because the car was involved in a felony, in the loan it says the car must be given up to the state. Hmm.....

Isn't the car being stolen itself a felony? Anyway, after months and months of going back and forth with lawyers, I got my insurance money back, but I still lost my 10K down payment and ~9 monts of payments. Might have been a blessing in disguise though. I didn't have a steady job and could barely afford payments. Promised myself I would get another.....and 7 years later, I did.

ANY CAR can be stolen if the person really wanted to take it. All you need is a tow truck. They don't care if the tires are still locked up, they will just drag the sucker.

does getting a revelco or w/e help? it looked pretty convincing but i dono...

i thought only thing you had to worry about was the top and the seats and (maybe) headlights but i didn't know the whole car can be stolen...(not using a tow truck)

all this is pretty discouraging to someone without a garage or driveway...
