Why did you buy your S2000?
It's been asked before on the forum, but it's a fun topic, so here we go again.
I got a brochure in late '99...it unfolded into a full-length photo of a Silverstone/Red and I was hooked. I'd just stare at that picture.
Last year, I got to sit in a Spa Yellow at the DC Auto Show..I loved the solid feel of the car and the quality of the workmanship. A test drive sealed the deal. Even below 5500 rpm, the sound of the engine let me know that this was the real thing!
So that's my story..why did you sign on the dotted line?

until mine arrived first week of May 2000. Couldn't be happyer!

The body!! Its all about the body!! The curves and lines
! I guess the 9000 redline might have had something to do with it
, and the fact it puts out more hp per litre than any other natuarly aspired vehicle. I sat in a red one at our 2001 portland auto show and decided that we were meant for eachother
. I found myself on www.honda.com everyday after that until I finally got mine in feb 2002
. I bought her the 18's and we lived happily ever after

I knew I wanted the car before it was even available. I was at the dealership the day they went on sale...I was every bit as impressed with the car in person as I was with the magazine articles. I didn't think I would own one until a few years from now, but my girlfriend rented one for my B-Day in Vegas (pretty cool GF, huh?) Needless to say, that day in the S made me get one much sooner than I ever thought I would. All I could think about was "I must own that car....I must own that car."
I was totally hooked. I would have bought the car without ever having driven it....but driving it sealed the deal and pushed me over the edge. It was that impressive.

Since I was 15 years old, I've wanted to own a 2-seat sports car. I was a big fan of all the various MGs, Austin-Healeys, Morgans, and Triumphs. Between the age of 15 and now, I've either been unable to afford to buy one, or my family was better served by my providing them mini-vans and sedans.
Well, about a year ago I saw my first S2000. It re-kindled my old desire for hitting the road with the top down. When my wife suggested that I give my current car to my oldest son so he would have transportation to and from college - and buy myself a new car - well, it was like waving a red flag in front of a bull.
The rest, as they say, is history!

From the time I first heard about the Honda roadster and read the Car & Driver article in late '99 (or whenever it was), I thought: I HAVE TO HAVE ONE!!! Being a loyal Honda owner, it seemed like the epitome of an awesome car.
I would go to local Honda dealers and just sit in them (when there was one in the showroom, which wasn't often!), and drool over the looks. I'd get whiplash every time I'd see one on the road.
At my suggestion (being the trade show person), my company gave one away at a trade show in June 2000, and that's when I got to drive one for the first time. I was REALLY hooked then!
Then my hubby decided he wanted to by a sports car, so I convinced him to buy the S. Now we both drive it and track it ... and it's even better than I thought!!

Impulse buy... funny thing is, I didn't even like the s2k all that much when it came out. But after test driving the S a couple times, I wanted to see how much more it would be to step up into an S.
I went to the dealer priced it out and well... I came home with the S2k that day for about $400 over invoice...
