Edit #3: The second poll choice has "AP1" as the last word, and it should be "AP2." I'd fix it if I could figure out how to edit the poll itself.

I'm curious, and would appriciate it if you would all select the most appropriate answer to this poll. Please be totally honest. Nobody will ever know which poll choice you selected. Mostly I'm wondering if there are many AP1 owners who actually settled for less than they wanted for financial reasons, but I'd also like to know if there are any AP2 owners out there who would have actually preferred an AP1. We all selected an S for a host of reasons, but if any of the above answers apply (other than "none of the above answers apply") then I'd like to know.

I should probably ask each question twice, once for people who paid cash for their cars, and once for people who are driving cars that actually belong to a lending or leasing institution, but I wanted to try to keep this simple.

Because some owners are overly sensitive and become aggressive in negative ways when we compare the AP1 to the AP2 I'm going to disallow discussion of the topic, but I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd all take a moment to take the poll.

I have an Ap1 because thats all they had in 03

 

I got an AP2 because these are sports cars and i didn't want one thats been around the block several times.With a new one i could break it in nice and soft and beat the shiot out of it afterwards.

for piece of mind...

I had a friend who had an AP1 and i test drove his several times and liked the car so i bought one.wouldn't have mattered to me weather it ws an ap1 or ap2.just a new one.

I don't like how this is worded:

I have an AP2 because I couldn't get (lease, whatever) a new AP1.

It implies that these people would rather have an ap1...how about adding a category - 'i got an ap2 because i wanted a new car'

 

I voted for cost because that was a major factor, but it was also because I always prefer the car that feels more at home on a track. Where I'm at 2004's were still running $28k+ and I refused to feel ripped off.

 

Yup, that's certainly a factor, Spartikus. The general theme being that older models are cheaper and that money can be spent on mods or whatever...

If you want to, you can even make an MY00-MY03 look like an MY04+...

In the mid-high teens, a well-worn MY00 or 01 can make a helluva track car value.
