Default Why do you drive an S2000?

I have always been a big fan of the S2000. Honestly, I have had the pleasure of owning 2 honda CR-Xs, 3 Del Sols, 2 EF Hatchbacks and a Prelude. I have a new career and to "reward" myself, I am very adamant about getting a S2K!

So why do you drive one? Move up in the honda world from civics? Just went based on the positive reviews? I'm just curious

Well...I'm just about to turn 20 years old here in a little under 2 weeks. I bought my S2000...I guess it would have been about a year and a half now, a few months before I turned 19. I, too, bought the car as a reward for myself for getting through high school and having a half decent job (Service Writer at the local Hyundai dealership). My ownership list is as follows:

- 1992 Lexus ES300
- 1992 Nissan Axxess
- 1989 Toyota Celica GT-S
- 1990 Acura Integra LS
- 1992 Honda Civic Si
- 1990 Acura Integra GS
- 1989 Toyota Supra turbo

No true pattern to my cars. As for why I initially wanted the S2000, well, I've wanted one since the thing first came out. I grew up being totally devout to Honda, when I found out in 1998 (yes, when I was 8 years old), that they would be releasing a moderately affordable (C'mon, everyone knows the ultimate in Honda performance was the NSX, but how realistic was it to actually buy one?) rear wheel drive sports car, I nearly s*** myself.

For a good 10 years of my life I spent dreaming of having one. In 2008 my brother bought an S2000, and he was kind enough to let me drive it the odd weekend. After driving it the first time, I fell completely in love, it had surpassed every expectation I had for it. A year later, my brother chose to sell his car to buy something a little more practical, a family man's car...Though shortly after he would suffer multiple cases of midlife crisis and buy several cars that were higher on the performance scale than the S2000.

Having just finished high school with no plans to continue education, I told my brother I wanted the car, and so, he sold it to me for the amount he had remaining on his loan.

TL;DR, It's been my dream car for 10 years.

I like the feeling of n/a cars ever since I drove the ever-so-torqy 350Z, although all previous cars owned by me were turbo.. I sold my top of the line TT for an S, because it's more like a sport car with a touch of class, instead of a luxury car with a sporty touch.

Until this day, I still prefer the driveability of the S over any of my previous cars. I sat in an S once, and the week after I bought one.

Peace.

My friend Roy had an s2000 equipped with JRZ triple adjustable shocks. I was sold after one ride in the car.

EDIT: They're on my car now

It's a fun car to drive. Especially with the top down.

idk. something so random. i had a mazda tribute. i was looking for something cheap that didnt waste gas. i was on my way to a toyota dealership. my dad wanted to stop and pee. there just happen to be a honda dealership. i said why not. i kinda like the honda civic si. i knew almost nothing about honda. more of a toyota family in my house. i was waiting by the door of the dealership for my dad to come out. and i looked to my left and there she was. well three of them. a BB, NFR and SSM. damn it was love at first sight. The three best looking colors. i didnt even know what i was looking at. i just thought this is the coolest car ever!!! man, i was saving up to buy a car and to mod it too. man, two days later i was driving home in my MY06 SSM. so damn happy. the two years later i pay it off!!!

I was never an import person, still consider myself a domestic car guy...

but something about the S was awesome. I guess it was just how it looked/how it drove/how it felt. It was the entire package.

I bought the first s2000 I test drove - probably not the best idea, but hell I was hooked.

My car list is in my sig...VERY different cars.

Funny thing is, the Honda S2000 was exactly what I shouldve "hated" in cars:

I didn't like peaky 4 bangers
I didn't like Hondas (sorry, some of the civic guys down here are jerks)
I didn't like convertibles
