Top is always down unless its:
-very hot and humid
- i'm sitting in traffic
- i'm on the highway for over two hours
- its pouring rain
- its below 30 degrees

I bought the car as a convertible, so I use it as one. With a power top, I can't see why I wouldn't drop it even for a short trip - its all about living the experience.

Now if I had a manual top, it would go down less often.

Because the soft top isn't installed anymore.

I marvel at the posters who say they're too lazy to put it down, or it's too much trouble on short trips. Doesn't the S have the fastest power top available, at something like five seconds?

I'm top up 90% of the time.

1. Less drag/better aerodynamics/no top end restriction (ya, I live my life 1/4 mile at a time)
2. Hair issues

BTW, ImMisterJimmy, love that quote in ur sig.
LOL

I spike my hair. With the top down the wind hits the back of my head all the time, no wind deflector...grrrrr! So now I have sharp spikes in the front and puffy afro in the back.

Use got2b glued. They claim it's windtunnel tested. I personally use it and my hair still stays pretty spiky even while driving 70-75mph on the highway.

Same as the above poster. I'm top up 80% of the time and I live in Dallas. I bought my car for the motor, handling, and chassis. Dropping the top is nice every now and then, but it's not that big of a deal for me overall. If Honda offered a Coupe, I probably would have bought that for the extra chassis rigidity.
100%

People stare too much when the top is down too. I like the occassional looks, but usually it's people glaring at me from 10ft up in their land yachts or while revving their Civics/Mustangs.

The biggest reason would have to be because my plastic rear window folds all wrong unless I get out of the car and press it flat while lowering the top. When I got the car I was always top down(my first experience with a vert), and then I realized that my window was getting creases in all the wrong ways and was getting scratched up on the inside.

I also like to tell myself I'm much faster with the top up.

Top is up when:
1) hair is wet and not in a ponytail
2) it's <50ish outside and I'm starting the car cold (don't want my rear window cracking!)
3) extended highway driving at 50 or below (note: I'm against windows up top down, EXCEPT for extended 50+ highway drives)
4) it's raining (city driving and rain DON'T mix!)

I've not owned the car for an NC summer yet, though I did buy it when it was still 80/90 out daily, little sunscreen and the A/C blasting takes care of the burn + heat... top down FTW!

Im not in socal, but Toronto, where our truly hot days are limited to a scope of 4 months maximum. Still I drive with the top up 80% of the time. I like the ride better with the top up. No wind messing up my hair, I can actulaly hear my music (I do like to listen to it on the quite side and refuse to turn it up... I need a perfect balance between music and engine music), and I do believe the aerodynamics of the car with the top up are much better than top down, so passes up to 200 kms make the car more stable with it up. Also my GF has long curly hair and she prefers it up most of the time, unless we are just crusing some streets ( I drive on the highways and higher posted speed limit streets typically).
