Why are half shaft spacers so expensive?

How much is a CAD program??
it's not much, we use it all the time and we have an CNC machine in campus.

but again, you don't need to CNC it if you have a prototype, send me the spacer, i draw you up an autocad and you bring the drawing to any machine shop and they will able to do it.

i am sure that's how most of the lower grade part works too, just retro-engineering/copying what's proven to work.

and yes, overhead overhead and overhead.

r&d, engineer, expensive, prototype, quality control, etc all cost money

you can't really just look at the material and judge by that figure alone.

If these pieces were sold like Dell, I'm sure the price would drop dramatically. Unfortunately in this market, hot sellers are still considered niche products.

I think there's two way to look at it, if there's no one willing to explore into uncharted water, we all are stuck with the copy of an copy of an copy of something.

If they sell them in large volume then they can bring down the price, sometime you can't even cover the cost of development of rare product
