Oh, no doubt they're two distinctly different cars, but if you've ever been in an Acura NSX, it doesn't offer anything more than the S2000 (e.g. interior amenties).

Why hasn't honda made any upgrades??

When one approaches perfection THEY AREN't NEEDED

after all, didn't honda add the glass window, tweeers, new tranny & Racing Clutch for 2002?

I like my S the way it is.... a perfect balance of GO, Stop & Turn!

oh... and drift

Probably in 2004, they bring out the S2200 coupe, which is 2.2L 250 hp. The only way Honda will upgrade the S2000, is when they upgrade the NSX. I would think honda is planning to upgrade the NSX soon because the Z has about 287hp, which is just about 3 hp short from the NSX and with a $89,000 price tag for 3 more horses, there won't be that many NSXs on the street even though there if there were that many to start with. I would love to have a Type-V, but what can you do...

But always remember that the S2000 has the world's most powerful 2.0L engine.

I don't see how Honda is showing how they are afraid of anything by the stance they are taking with the S2000 in terms of its build, and so called "enhancements."

It should be obvious to all that it cost Honda a lot of money to research and develop the S2000. The S2000, for the most part, is assembled by hand. The S2000 is a very low volume car in terms of production numbers.

Does anyone honestly think that Honda is making any marginal profit on the S2000? I've read, and firmly believe, that the NSX does not generate any meaningful profit for Honda Motor Co. I mean, how can it? If you knew the painstaking process of producing one of these, you would easily see why Honda prices the NSX where it currently does. Now I don't want to get off topic, but the S2000 follows the same structure to some degree. Honda develops certain cars in its lineup as a "celebration" of its ability to develop cars that have race bred technology built into them.

As you can see, Honda isn't going to be able to go and start changing things right off the bat. Am I making any sense?

nastinupe1..........thoughts, comments?

Have you ever driven an NSX before? With only 3hp more and 50lb-ft less torque, the NSX still smoke a Z, especially on the highway.

Do you understand the point, would you spend $50,000 more and if you wanted to have more power, you could use that extra 50k to buy turbo...

The S2000 is one of the most profitable cars Honda makes, and dealers sell most of them without having to discount them. Why should they make changes of this kind? Certainly not to satisfy a few of us
