Its Mobil 1, not Mobile.

And personally I think they're popular because they have one of the most intensive advertising campaigns of any oil company. The oil is good quality but not exceptional and certainly not any better than synthetics from Shell or certain German formulations of Castrol Synthetic.

I'm not using that.... @%$*!)&.. molasses when cold oil.

0W-40 for me and changing to 0W-30.

Buy Dutch/British oil

Weren't they the originators of synthetic? If so, everything else becomes generic. Beyer vs. acetisalicylic acid. Which would you choose if you had a choice?

Now I know I will be corrected if I'm wrong, but I think Amsoil was the first synthetic.
