Thumbs up Why are my Tien FLEX riding so crazy HARD?

Ok at first I was thinking I'll just have to get used to it but after reading a few threads on this subject I'm really confused...

I have Tien Flex on my 05 S2000 similiar to my bro's IS300. His is so much smoother.

My car seems super bouncy and when I hit potholes my dentures would fall out if I had them...hahaha

Seriously though my g/f hates the ride and it's much worse now. I have all the settings at MAX soft so it's not because of that but I'm thinking there must be another adjustment I'm not understanding?

Can anyone who has some expertise in this subject help me out?

thanks in advance,
rick

Are you running the EDFC with the Teins? I currently have this setup and when I finished mine and went out for a ride, I had the same problem. Thing was I didn't turn off the power for the EDFC and turn it back on to reset all the damping to 0 and adjust from there. I happend to find out that little tid bit when I accidently turned it off and on. Now it rides fairly smooth in the max soft setting.

Hope that helps.

The flex do have 600lb springs or so.. it is a stiff suspension.

I'm not running the EDFC but as I noted in my post above, I have the settings on the very softest possible.

I hope this is not normal since if that is the case I'm selling these for sure.....

Someone told me it had something to do with the pre-load vs. ride height adjustment?

I ran Tein Flex's on my STi and sold 'em cos they were awful.

Way too stiff for regular use.

I guess you get what you pay for, they are pretty cheap after all, but false economy in my opinion.

I keep mine on 10/12 for the street and I love it. I researched them quite a bit on this site before I bought them. Have you done a comprehensive search?
