Are there always rumors each new MY about an S2000 coupe? Or is this something new?

There are pictures of the "new stunning coupe" in car mags, rumors about the coupe's debut at the Tokyo auto show, and many other hints that a coupe will be unveiled later this year.

Could this mean that a coupe is really on the way?

 

Yep, it could mean there is a new coupe on the way. Or it means there is not a coupe on the way. I am pretty sure it's one of those two optons.

There are rumors, becase people like to gossip. Best bet is to wait and see.

 

There are always rumors. The specifics may change but every year there are rumors and the bottom line is until it's announced by Honda it's just a rumor.

 

Every year, it is like this. We will find out in October what will really happen.

All the rumors are false. For example, the following rumors posted in years past have turned out to be totally false:
(1) After MY2001 there will be a glass rear window.
(2) The S2000 after MY2001 will get a stereo upgrade with tweeters.
(3)The S2000 after MY2000 will have a clock.
(4)Unlike what the salesman said, there will be a MY2001, MY2002, MY2003, MY2004 run. (Substitute MYyear for year of rumor)

Those for rumors are just quick examples. Never believe any rumors from this board.

The S2000 will only be manufactured for one model year, will never have a glass rear window or a clock or any stereo upgrade. Rest assured that your MY2000 car will be a classic, perfect out of the chute, and not a candidate for evolution or improvement.

 

Honda is very secretive. You have to wait for the new model to debut before you know anything. That also goes for Acura, too.
