Are we sure it's the tires or that God awful "cat piss" like smell of the clutch?

I drove my Stook pretty aggressively in Asheville during S2K Days and don't remember smelling anything. . .yeah, ASHEVILLE! What a great time. . .I want to go back!

TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. . .they are GREAT at determining the problem! HaHa SARCASM!

Sorry for not getting to this sooner but...it's actually quite easy. It's your brakes/pads! There

Wes and I were tearing it up one night and we came to a light. Sure enough a bunch of smoke started billowing (more like a trickle, really) from the rear tire wells. Turns out it was his brake pads. We were both running pretty fast on the beltway but it seems he would enter just a little too hot. No biggie.

I think Lips is right, I've had similar occruences and I've allways traced it back to my pads.

I recommend you drive around with the parking brake on. The smell of burning pads should over-power the burnt rubber smell.

LOL! It's the same smell I remember as a kid when I focused my magnifying glass on an anthill on a real hot july day. Most recently this same smell turned out to be my clutch after a too-ambitious drop/slip.

Maybe you drove over some dead animal and some piece of it is stuck under your car? Or maybe you have blood splattered in your fender wells that is causing the smell? - this really happened to someone I know - he could not get rid of the smell no matter how much he tried to rinse the car - needed to drive in the next major rainstorm to get rid of it.

If you are driving the car hard, it is probably your brake pads.
