Default Wierd smell when I turn heater on

For some reason when i turn the heat on in my S it smells like fish. But when i push the button with the air going out of the car it stops smelling..anyone have any clue as to why I am getting the smell..My car is pretty clean so I know its not anything to do with it being dirty..should i take it to the dealer?

My bet is a mouse nest in the heater core.

Check and change your cabin air filter.

Klima-kleen works great in VAG vehicles to get rid of the "smelly feet" AC core.

is changing the cabin filter that important, i never have and don't know if the previous owner ever did. I don't have allergies and i've never noticed any odd oders, it's a 2002 w/74k miles.
