Default Will this mod void warranty?

I found this ad on Yahoo and the owner has the following intake mod:

Will this void existing warranty from Honda?

most likely no, unless the comptech intake breaks and the plastic pieces fly inside your engine.

If your worried, just sell the intake and replace it with the OEM box. Your warranty is really only voided when you take your car into the dealer to claim warranty. Then they might bitch at your intake.

It could be void provided the dealer can prove that the modification caused the problem at hand.

No modifications can avoid the manufacture's warranty unless it's proven to cause the problem if one shall arrise. It's a law. For reference, the act is called the magnuson automotive act.

there was a long threat on a comptech intake voiding it. He had a broken diff and went through a bunch of headaches and even through honda care which i believe wasnt too much help

ill look for the thread later im kinda in a rush but yeah get ready

and how the hell do you justify that a intake broke a diff.

just swap in your OEM intake before taking it in, they'll never know.

The dealership can void your warranty for pretty much any mod they want. Yes, there is an act that says it has to be the direct cause of the problem, but the dealership will bank on the fact that you will probably not take them into court over an intake or suspension.
You should feel out the dealership before you take the car in or do what others have suggested. Take the mod off before taking it into the dealer.

Depends on the dealership...some are cool and let you get away with the little stuff but some are just ASSES...

Hondacare is not a warranty and can thus be voided for basically anything. It is a SERVICE CONTRACT as is every other extended warranty.

The MANUFACTURER's warranty can only be voided if the aftermarket part caused a problem.
