Default Will it never end?

Finally got my engine bolted down...

Now I've got a fluid leak in the transmission. I was smelling burnt oil through the heating vents but couldn't positively identify that it was my car making the smell. Next day, there is a puddle of oil on my garage floor. I checked everywhere, it doesn't seem to be running down from anywhere, just droplets on the bottom of the xmission casing.

This sucks. Can I scream yet?

Is the filler plug in place, and tight?

I got the news. The transmission input seal is leaking. They need to pull the tranny again to replace the seal, clutch and a few other things.

At least I get a new clutch out of the deal.

Hopefully it is the same clutch from '02's... I drove Pete (SoloVR6's) new blue '02 on Sunday and it had NO CLUTCH RATTLE. NONE. It was awesome to hear such a quiet clutch in a Stook. You should try to get one of the new ones.

I had the same exact problem 3 months into my S2000 ownership. The front seal had ruptured and was leaking tranny oil onto my garage floor too.

Make sure they replace both seals. Have the dealership order extra seals since one of mine was deformed and delayed the repair process by 1 week.

I also had the 1-2 grind TSB fix during this warranty repair. They usually go for it since they are already there...

Good luck,
Joe

This seems like a perfectly likely result of your engine being unattached. I'm glad you're getting it fixed by them.

cthree, are they attributing this to the engine not being bolted down??? I hope you got some sort of extended warranty out of them for their mistake.
