...one question...do yall think the wind deflector really deflects wind? i tried testing it with up and down position...still feels the same to me...
i think the difference between having the deflector up or down becomes more apparent if the windows are up. but who drives with the top down and the windows up?

Yes, it actually works, not to that degree, but it works. One of the best way to test is to have a girl with long hair in the passenger seat. Drive with the top down and the wind deflector up. Now while cruising, lower the wind deflector and you'll see her hair blowing all over the place (more than before). But first you have to get yourself a girl. Maybe that'll be a pickup line/excuse to ask out your cute coworker or a friend...

Back to topic, try pushing on the black plastic pieces around the bottom half instead of the clear plastic so you won't break the clear plastic piece.

I did a series of experiments some time ago. Here is a cut/paste of a reply from another thread:

This issue comes up from time to time. In general, the lexan pieces that go across the whole area behind the seats have been "deemed" ugly. I've tried the mesh thing between the roll hoops and this, in combination with other stuff, has proven to be very effective but again, attachment was a problem and was also deemed as ugly. If you search using some key words like "mesh" or "windscreen" or "aero screen", you'll turn up lots of threads on this very subject. Here are a couple of threads from some "tests" that I did a while back.

Your manual is probably in "The Hidden Compartment". If you don't know what that is, just do a search.
If he can't operate the wind deflector do you really think he can find the hidden compartment?!? j/k

Slow, but not that slow. I did find the hidden compartment. And no, owner's manual wasn't in there.

I'll tell you what else it does. If you're driving wearing a short skirt or a dress with the deflector down, the skirt blows up and your lap gets cooler. Then the truckers start trying to keep up.

You'd be surprised! It's one of my pet peaves, but what are you gonna do? People buy convertibles for different reasons...I drive it with the top down and windows down always!

Under certain circumstances, I DO! And from going on drives with others, I am not alone.
