The deflector, without a doubt, works. I had the 7/8th Rick deflector before but found the difficulty of opening the secret compartment rather annoying. I was one of the skeptics and was disappointed when I first installed it, but once I took off the whole deflector, I noticed an uncomfortable increase cabin turbulence.

Further proof that the deflector works: I used to be able to light up a cigarette with the windows up and Rick's 7/8 deflector in place. With the stock deflector now back, I have to duck down low to light up.
Eww, do you really want to smoke in the S2k?

I've never seen an aftermarket one. Can someone post a pic of this or any other aftermarket one or tell me where I can see them?

And can anyone explain exactly how they work? Seems weird to me.
Look back a couple of posts..., I think I have a shot of mine with the led blue lights.

Up 90% of the time. Down on cooler days during the summer, to help get the cabin cooler.

I these old ed threads

As far as the deflector it makes a difference in up or down position. Im 5'8" and it does change the airflow in the cabin for me.

^Yes, it folds. I don't remember which way b/c I never put it down. That's where my top always down sticker is and I like to show it off.

I don't have one. I feel special having an unmolested secret compartment!

Up. I have a Ricks style 7/8ths only done in polycarbonate. It's far windier with it down and at high speed, with the 7/8ths, it just flips itself up anyway when the wind catches it.
