you can't carry a conversation with the soft top up? Time for a hearing aid old man.

I don't recall making that statement. You should go back and read my post. I said it's difficult without raising your voice, which is true.

Wind noise is significantly reduced with the hardtop. I think the engine is louder when cruising at highway speeds than the wind is.

I would have to agree with this one. The hardtop makes the car sound like pretty much any other non-convertible car.....but with a loud engine.
If you have a nice stereo system, I noticed that it makes it sound a LOT better. Perhaps because of how the sound resonates in the interior with the hardtop on?The other plus is the significantly increased rear visibility (through the hardtop window).
I agree with the others, you cut wind noise drastically, but engine/exhaust noise resonates at a higher db level. And +1 on rear visibility increase...it is much better with the hardtop.
Another advantage is winter months in the northeast, since I don't have a garage, the hardtop keeps heavy snow accumulations from damaging the convertible.
And the hardtop looks cool!

Is the hardtop finished on the inside? Which material?
Hmm, I can't even find one on Google images. Anyway, it's pretty much exactly like the center console area of AP2s (the leather part).
