Default Windshield mounted phone holder

Looking for something other than the Modifry bracket. Something that will keep it closer to eye level and not lower near the head unit.
I did some searching and noticed the lack of windshield suction mounted options.

Anyone running a windshield suction mounted phone holder? If so, how is it? Visibility reduced too much?

Hard hitting questions and issues… I know.

There is literally a zillion different types of generic windshield phone mounts on Amazon (zillion is an ambiguous number which I define as the exact total number of generic windshield phone mounts currently available on Amazon at any given moment).

I will say the Modifry mounts at similar dash height as most newer cars in dash nav/infotainment systems. I don't find it awkward to use, and I sit much taller than you.

I use a cellphone mount that slides into the CD player slot. Not eye level but secure and out of the way. Just drop it in the secret compartment when not using it -- which is 99% of the time as I use a Garmin GPS for navigation.

Added: This GPS mates with my iPhone and provides hands free operation eliminating the need for an eye-level phone which never leaves my belt.

(Just adding an alternate option if navigation is the reason for mounting the phone high on the dash.)

I find the one that are a semi-flexible “stalk” that mount to the pax seat mounting bolts so it is easily removable. You can also mount a tablet if you want for navigation or something.

You said you did not want it down by the head unit but you can get the stalks at different lengths.

i love my modifry mount, good distance and angled towards me. I got their phone holder and it works well but i did like my magnet mount more but it cant hold the weight of the phone straight.

These are super cheap and work perfectly. Great height for navigation or streaming music etc. Not sure why anyone would spend any more or over-engineer a "better" solution.

I have this:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3286...rch-mainSearch

It is extendable, which makes it possible for me to attach it at the base of the windshield and still be able to reach it.
The spring-loaded "claws" snap into place as soon as I put the phone into the cradle, and are released by pressing the 2 "buttons" on the sides.
It's very secure, and I've never had the phone fall out, even in spirited driving. The only downside is that on occasion, the suction cup will detach from the windshield, but that's par-for-course.

Which Lamicall are you using? Seem to be quite a few, and since our vents are relatively small, I'd like to get the one that is known to work.
