Default Windshield reveal molding...

I just thought I would share this story with everyone....

Well...it looks like my luck with Honda has run out. My local dealer agreed to replace the windshield reveal molding, as it was torn, and the windshield surround was bubbling. I take it over to the body shop and they tell me that they can do the work, but the windshield will need to be removed and replaced. The thing is that NO ONE in Tallahassee will guaranty the removal without breaking the glass (apparently this happens a lot with our windshields). Honda is not willing to cover a broken windshield (even though it might break as part of the approved fix) as it should be the glass removal companies liability.

So to make a long story short....I cannot get this fixed because the windshield (if it were to break) would cost me $500. Even if I went through my insurance, my deductible is still $500. I cannot get this done because no one can guaranty the safe removal and replacement of the glass.

This sucks! Now I have to live with the stupid ass bubble at the center of the windshield surround until I can come up with $500 for a possible new windshield.

Just thought I would vent.

in many states, windshields are replaceable with no deductable.

Thats only if its broken during the normal course of driving or vandalism. If its done because someone was working on it they won't cover it.

The window needing to be replaced is bs man. I had the molding around my old s2k litterly fall out up top. The dealership had a glass company come out and replace the molding. It does NOT require the window to be removed. The remove the molding, clean up the surrounding area, use some 3m molding glue ( or something like it, I just saw 3m on the bottle), then install new molding. The job was very clean, and I never had a problem with it.

Try a different company.

it isnt just the molding, but also the black decal that surrounds the windshield frame. Apparently it wraps under the glass. I am getting them to put a temporary fix on it, so it isn't so much of an eye-sore. My financial aid comes in September, so I should be able to do it then...gotta love free government $.

Take a pic - I want to see what you're talking about. Is this the weather flap that naturally comes up, and that you can smooth out or something diff?
