Default windshield tape

Alot of people suggest to remove the windshield tape. I have yet to see some type of tape on my windshield, I have searched and even after looking at the pictures I do not know where the windshield tape is. Someone please point to it directly for me.

LOL! Its the black out tape around the FRAME of the windsheild. It's painted body color beneath it.

The outer trim of the wind shield is covered by black tape. Its covered nicely that it doesn't really look like tape. Underneath is body colored paint. An easy way to notice that its tape is to open your door and look at the area where the hing is.

A pic is worth . . . .

A word of warning - some owners (very few) have removed the "tape" to find that the painting process was not "complete" in this area. The "tape" is a POS to get back on and in all likelihood you will have to get a pro to put it back on.

I would try removing it. Be careful, and if possible use a heat gun to facilitate easy removal. The car looks so much better without the tape IMO.

It looks especially good with a color matched hard top.

Be prepared to do some serious buffing as the paint under the tape is less than perfect in some places.

I had three 2" spots that had color but looked like they were painted with a cheap paint brush.

Needed very agrressive work with full tilt RUBBING COMPOUND- girly wax won't do.

No knock on Honda as they obviously never meant the window frame paint to see the light of day.

Regards,
BD

If your car is Berlina Black, it does not have the tape.

ok, no wonder I did not see the tape. The owner before me must have removed it. The paint is in pretty good condition, I have waxed that area multiple times already... Thanks for the replies and picture.
