Windshield Tape Removal
So I went outside and removed the black tape around my windshield. I have a MY06 Silverstone Metallic without a hard top. It took me roughly 10-15 min to get the tape off. I did not use a heat gun or blow dryer and do not recommend it. The car sat in the sun for about 3-4 hours before I began this project. Removing the tape was fairly easy. I started bottom up on the passanger side. The tape is divided into 3 sections, one on each pillar and one in the middle. The tape does over lap however when working bottom up you have to re-peel the middle section with your finger. I did not have any trouble with glue residue being stuck to the vehicle. The small portions that did stick were easily removed by rubbing with my finger. The tricky part is the initial peeling. You would have to get under the rubber around the windshield to properly start the process, otherwise you run the risk of small tears and the tape will peel uneven. Once I reached the driver side I did not continue to peel down. I went bottom up again which is the way I recommend as if you work top to bottom the tape may not peel properly and again result in uneven peeling.
As far as scuff marks I had one very very minor scuff mark on the top portion of the windshield area. It was roughly the size of my pinky nail and nothing major at all. It looks very easy to buff out or even with a nice decent car wash/wax it will go away. End result the vehicle looks a lot more appealing IMO. I will take pics later on as I did this during my break at work.
Happy peeling

just an update that scuff mark reported to be the size of my pinky nail turned out to be just excess tape I was able to clean off with my fingers. There are no scuff marks at all and the vehicle looks very clean =)

Im still undecided on whether I wanna remove mine.
Tape looks good with a black hardtop.
Tapeless looks good with no hardtop.
...what to do...
