The Wing
There should be some consistency in responses to posts that don't meet standards.
This post is almost uninteligable.

Instead of just answering rudely how about not posting a reply at all? I've been here for >3 years and it doesn't really get to me. We can't expect everyone to know how to navigate a web forum from the get go.

I can understand why people get frustrated at some posts, and with some posters.
My first thought about people who ask should I buy "A" or "B" is to say buy whatever the
you want. On the other hand. maybe they are trying to ask people what their opinions on the specific products are, and the advantages of one over the other. They should be more specific.
I think that people that want to use this forum should learn how to use the tools available, especially the search function.
The posts that bother me the most are those that are difficult to read because of spelling errors, poor grammar, use of all caps or no caps, and lack of punctuation. I am not an English major, and frequently make errors myself. I think though, that it is rude to post without first seeing that most words are spelled correctly and the post is readable.
All posters must remember that the S2K community is diverse, and some of the individuals you expect responses from are not your peers. They may be older or younger, more or less educated, and certainly come from different socio-economicand cultural backgrounds.
The bottom line is that there is a standard for communicating in forums that certainly does not need to be 100% correct English, but people that post trash that is ill thought out and full of misspelled words don't deserve a reply.
I do think newcomers and individuals who do not use English as their primary language should be cut some slack.
Sorry for the long rant - a slow day at work.
