Winter and a soft top
[QUOTE=vtec9,Feb 25 2008, 08:20 AM] I have no problems with my soft top, or plastic window, in the winter. Even with no defrost, it's not a problem. The cabin heats up very fast and all the ice on it melts. Just don't put the top down when the temp is below ~40

And my s2k doesn't cry in the winter.. it laughs at all the wussy owners who park their's. Sorry, but no car I can pick up for 30k brand new deserves to be a garage queen

to all the pussies out there.
There is one huge problem to consider. If you drive an S2000 when/where the roads are salted, then the car will truely look awful after a short drive. You will find yourself washing the car in 40 degree weather, and completely freezing your a$$ off. My old car could go all winter without a wash, but my Black S2000 can't go a week.
Color choice is important here. Berlina Black looks really good clean. But the car gets dirty in a very short time. 20 minutes after I wash it, it is ready to be cleaned again.
I image one of the silvers would hold up much better. Or maybe GPW.

I spent one winter w/ soft top and this winter is my second w/ a hardtop.
No problems for me. But I do park my car in the garage everyday.
I don't see any problems with my neighbor's AP1 so far.
That car's been parked outside every single day with a huge pile of snow.

You should be alright this is where I park every night(i only have the soft top)
I go out and brush off the snow if I start to get more then 6inches on there. It snowed like this here off and on for 2weeks but no leaks or anything of that sort.. hope this helps

Here's one thing I've always wondered. Water expands when frozen, so if you don't take care of your top, wouldn't it get absorbed in then expand and prematurely wear your top out?

I have no problems with mine in the winter. I've been through 2 now.
When I'm driving and there's some snow on the roof, I'll give it a little upwards pat while I'm driving, just enough to lift the snow up and get some air under it and it all blows off. Sweeeet.
