Default Winter Storage

Can anyone provide any info on storing the S for the winter. It will be garaged for about 5 months. Should it be on jack stands? Type of stand and jack? Lifting points etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My car has been on jackstands for the past 2 months with the wheels dismounted. I start mine once a week just to keep the fluids healthy. It's also covered with the OEM car cover.

Can anyone comment on using a gas stabilizer for the S2K? My coworkers have recommended it as a general rule. Another coworker recommended filling the snot out of the gas tank til it practically overflows - so that moisture can't get into the tank. Anyone?

I would do the following:
--Add gas stabilizer. Use this on my boat for 10+ years. Summer blend gas is more volatile, and you could get shellac type deposits in the fuel system.
--Fill tank on a moderate temp. day. I stopped filling my boat tanks when they expanded out the overflows one year due to temp rise..
--VACUUM, Clean, treat interior.
--Cover or protect paint from stuff falling on the car..

A friend of mine leaves his car on the ground (an M3) all winter long, and hasn't had any problems with tires, or suspension. Good luck.

Wow! Great advice.

Thanks for the all information. I'm looking into storing my car for the winter and that was excactly what I needed to know. I think I might be able to use alot of my winterizing chemicals (fogging oil, silicone spray, and fuel stabilizer)that I used on my SeaDoo on the S2K.

that's pretty thorough...some good stuff in there. I'm not so sure about all the stuff you need to do about mice, but if you are paranoid then why not!

I'm a beleiver that fuel stabilizer is just paranoid marketing....all you need to do is fill the tank

My biggest concern was that I thought I had to put the car on jack stands but it sounds like it's not necessary? I was worrried about damaging the tires.
