Started working on this today. I took a cast of the orginal boot installed on the car so that the fit would be exact. Still can't believe i taped my car up and laid fiberglass over interior parts, but ohwell everything came off ok. So tommarow I'll start shaping it up. As for the first prototype, i dont' know when I will get the thing done since I have a family vacation, a wedding, and a honeymoon coming up in the next month.

Bass-
I know that Rick usually does not manufacture his own stuff. He did tell me that he has contact with a fabrication plant in the Far East (China I am assuming), and that the product would be made there, then shipped here, as it is cheaper that way. He cannot act as the middle man here, as this product does not really exist at this time.
I used to have the Racing Beat one, and told him how they locked together and tied into the existing tonneau snaps. I will get in touch with him this week sometime, and see if he has heard from his contacts.
thanks
John

dt-
you should be able to make the middle portion much flatter than the stock tonneau. you can almost draw a line from the rear weather stripping (in between the two sides that stick up) and the snaps for the tonneau. This would lend for a lower profile, and make creating 3 pieces easier, as it will be harder to interlock a 3 dimensional curve (Hump of existing tonneau) than a flatter line. You should also be able to get the top to lay flatter if you unzip the rear window first.
If you cant a REALLY light fit, you can get a 40 MILL tarp / shower pan from Home depot, cut it to fit, and simply lay it over the top and tape the edges. you should not need to worry about the resin going through the tarp (40 MILL is VERY thick). Using something like this rather than the stock pre-formed boot will allow for a MUCH tighter sillouette.
Let me know how yours comes out.
Thanks
