Post Working offshore, owning a convertable?

Hey guys, its my first post here but i've lurked for a pretty un-naturally long time. I really love the way the S2000 looks and always fancied a real (not a miata) convertable since I faffed about with bikes.

Anyway, my problem is that I really fancy one of these but with winter coming and I won't see my car for *usually* 2 weeks at a time or up to 6 weeks, is a soft top all that smart? I wouldn't keep it garaged either. It would just sit outside my parent's house (yes, I live with them. Just waiting for housing crisis to be over first).

If I can't get one of these, its a CTR but god willing, I want an S2k.

So... up to you gents, I believe in your judgement.

Or you could buy a decent car cover.

I heard that car covers were only supposed to be very tempory. Since the S has such delicate paint. is this really advisable?

A good car cover will be water proof and protect the paint. They are not cheap. Typicaly $400+ for the S. If you dont have garage, its a good investment.

I'd definitely go with the CR since it comes with a removable hard top. You can drive with the hard top on during the winter and take it off to show off during warmer climates.
