I may end up going with Mita if I have no other luck tracking one down. That's really cool that they're reproducing it. I'm just curious if the silver will match the cup holder.

I bit the bullet and ordered the Mita silver one. When installing a new shift boot a few weeks ago didn’t realize the screws were different size and used tightened a long screw in place of a short which ended up poking through on the other side and that’s been bugging me ever since . Thought about the black one but since I have an AP2v1 the cup holder is silver and wanted to keep it consistent.

It hurts doesn’t it?! It was the end of a long day for me and I was not paying attention — when I saw the screw poke through on the other side I was like ARGHHH!!

If any of you with the screw damaged pieces wants to give them away or even sell them, let me know.

I wasn't paying attention either but I caught it just as it began poking through, but it still sucks. It now doesn't sit flush anymore which irritates me.

It was a Rustoleum.

Since its texture effect changes depending on the distance between the spray can and the part being painted, I did a few test cards to determine which I liked the best.

I’ve received the replacement trim piece from MITA and here is a quick review and installed image. It is a 3D printed plastic piece so if you’re expecting an exact OEM replacement you may be disappointed..

Color match is decent but texture is not quite the same and if you look closely you can see some of the texture bleeding through in the middle where the hazard switch on later AP2’s will reside. That said from a typical distance that bleeding effect is very hard to see and texture difference does not bother me. It seems very scratch prone so be aware - mine has a small scratch already even though I did the install with the unit supported by microfiber towels. As per the instructions drilling and tapping of the screw locations are needed and I found that 9/64 bit worked well.

Overall I am happy that there is replacement option for a part that is NLA new from Honda. Shipping is from Japan so it costs more than domestic but was very quick (2 days from departure) and I combined it with a replacement center console piece so given the size of the package I thought it was reasonable.
