Worn out sotf top

Default Worn out sotf top

just wanted to know if any one else has worn or smooth spots on their soft tops mainly on the ribbs, mine is still under warranty and i want to know if i should get it replaced??

I think I know what you are talking about. It's even worse if you use a car cover on a regular basis. I don't think the effect it has on the looks of car is too bad. I doubt most people even notice. As far as longevity goes, i have no idea. I always figured when my top wears too much for my liking I'll have fork out the dough for a nice hardtop.
As far as having it replaced under warranty, I don't know if I would do that unless you are very confident in the ability of your dealership.

The s2k has two weakest links. One of them is the soft top. Probably the worst soft top design that i have ever seen on modern cars.

Yeah, I have some smooth parts where the softop frame ribs are. Do you think they will replace it under warranty?

I thought they'll only replace it if it rips from premature wear or something.

sounds like a normal wear to me.
