Default is it worth it?

hello fellow honda lovers.....i hail from the world of the ep hatch.

well i am always looking for an s2k. it's been my dream car for a while now.....well my dream car thats within reason of course. anyway i would like to get something damaged and be able to fix it up or drop a new motor in it. for one obviously to save some money and two because it would be a good project. i was wondering what you guys think about this car. looks like i just need to replace the front and back bumpers, the side quarter panel? and the headlight and tail light. seeing as how it's being sold for 11k it looks like a really good deal but what do you guys think? it has a salvage title so does that neccesarily mean it has more damage than i think? it is said to have no damage to the frame and the engine runs like new. it's a 2002 with 18k miles. please post your unbias opinions. hopefully one day i can join your ranks as an happy s2k owner. thanks guys

(mods please move if this thead is in the wrong place)

There is a running and supposedly nice condition S2k on eBay for under $12k that has a salvage title due to flood damage. Getting that one tip-top will probably be easier than a lot of bodywork.

That S has a salvage title for a reason. Im sure its for more than just some body damage. You need to get it up in the air to tell.

what would be the possibilities of damage on it do you think? would i have to swap out the motor and electronics? i would think something with water damage would be more of a hassle because you dont know what would be wrong with the car if it has water damage.....well i wouldn't know anyway.

it makes sense that the s2000 would have more damage than i could see. the seller says in the description that he would sell it for 15k repaired though.

Why not buy the white/red 00 or 01 w/70k available in the FS section for $14k that's never been in a wreck.

I'd take a car, especially a Honda, with mileage on it any day of the week before I'd consider something wrecked.

dont buy a salvaged car. ESPECIALLY not a flood damaged one. The one in your pictures is jacked up. dont buy it. I used to work for insurance, they would NOT have totalled it if it could have been fixed for cheap.
