Worth it....? or not?
Hey there I have been reading these forums quite often for the past 3-4 years ( since three years ago when a buddy of mine got one of these babies in Quebec, Canada.) (Sadly he chose to be reckless and irresponsible and ended up totaling his S2k.). Anyways I found this ad in my local classifieds:
http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...dIdZ285359553#
let me know what you think? whether its worth it or not. I contacted him and he said I could have it for 9900$
I hope he still has the stock body kit, because the aftermarket one on there at the moment is ridiculous ( sorry to all those who have it)

The car was in a accident however as we are just finding out after 4 years ownership. Car fax shows nothing but when under car you can see evidence of repair. Looks like a drivers side impact.
Why don't you have a look at it and decide for yourself. Looks very nice but pictures can be decieving. A nice paint job can cover up a host of ills. It has obviously been repainted with the repair work and the body mods - as always the true test is whether the interior shows similarly. Top looks new. Does the present owner have all the service records for both themselves and the previous owner? Talk to T&T Honda - it is the local dealership that seems to deal most with aftermarket modifications for all Honda cars, so it is highly likely if it has been a "local" car its whole life that the vehcle was serviced there - about the original owner and how they looked after the car. In my experience, cars with a lot of body mods have been owned by younger folks who, with youthful exuberance, run things "at the edge" so I would want a complete work up on the engine, transmission and suspension. This vehicle looks like it has been lowered too suggesting suspension mods. The fact that the present owner discovered the previous damage themselves and had not been told about it by the person from whom they bought the car does not sit well with me. I am not sure whether Canadian based vehicles even show up in a Carfax search so that in itself wouldn't deter me. But my antenna would certainly be up when looking at it. Remember that these cars in Canada sold new for around $50000 with tax so the price to me does not seem too out of the park and the mileage is consistent with a vehicle that was only summer driven. Good luck.

thanks guys, yeah I figured it was kinda sketch, but the only other S2 in the are with similar mileage, is probably around the ballpark of 18000, and being a student this is a bit pricey for me. ... guess I will have to keep on waiting, and anyways berlina black and silverstone and the other lighter silver are the nicest in my opinion (white can look good too).
